OUR LOVE AFFAIR WITH PEARLS
Pearls are unique among all the gemstones as they are the only ones to be created by living creatures. In contrast to their soft, understated beauty, theirs is a story of grit, of becoming through a process akin to the hero’s journey.
A pearl is formed when an intrusive bit of sand or grit enters an oyster's shell, and the oyster responds by secreting layers around the irritant to preserve its own integrity. Over time, these layers build up and form a pearl.
Just as the pearl is transformed through its struggle, we too can be transformed through our struggles with adversity. With trust, we can embrace our challenges as opportunities for growth and transformation, and emerge from them as beautiful and lustrous versions of ourselves.
